Greetings to the Stars of the Class of 2006!

That has a nice ring to it, don't you think? We will be starting school in a few weeks; I hope all of you are ready. I know I am. Yes, I did sit under quite a few palm trees while I was on vacation in Florida. I hope you enjoyed your vacation, too.

My experience with seventh and eighth graders here at Holy Name School has taught me one thing, and that is that there is a great maturing process that occurs over the summer before a student starts eighth grade. The other teachers and I will be looking for that on the first day of school. You know how I feel about my students - we become like "la famila" - whereas I expect a certain type of behavior and respect from you for yourselves, classmates, teachers, parents, and so forth.

Your parents and I have very high expectations for your class this year. I believe that we have the potential to send more boys to St. Joe's Prep than ever before. Scholarships and awards are up for grabs! Enjoy the year and don't wish it away because before you know it the year will be over and you will say, "Where did the year go?"

Enjoy the rest of the summer! Come back ready to work!
