& Social Justice
The Camden Center
for Law and Social Justice (CCLSJ) is a privately-funded,
non-profit, public-interest law firm dedicated
to serving the civil law needs of the working
poor. Founded in 1994, CCLSJ concentrates
its practice in immigration law, employment
and civil rights law, and family and juvenile
law. Under the direction of Vince Guest,
Esq., a staff of three lawyers and a paralegal
serves more than 500 individual clients and
provides counsel to more than 40 community-based
organizations annually.
CCLSJ is affiliated
with the Immigration Office of the Diocese
of Camden, working to meet the needs of the
large influx of immigrants and migrant workers
in South Jersey. CCLSJ is also developing
collaborative and mutually-supportive relationships
with other legal service agencies in the
region, with the private bar, and with area
law schools to advance systemic litigation
and law reform efforts and to provide opportunities
for joint initiatives and academic research.
