Jay Wright Guest Speaker At
7th Annual JUST Reception

 

The seventh annual Friends For JUST (FFJ) reception will be held Thursday, September 25, 2008 at The Mansion in Voorhees, NJ. The guest speaker will be Jay Wright, men’s basketball coach at Villanova University, and the guest of honor will be Robert T. Healey, Esq., founder of the Catholic School Development Program.

Jay Wright has been the head basketball coach at Villanova for the past seven years. His teams have gone to the NCAA tournament each of the last four seasons and three times have gone to the Sweet Sixteen. . In addition to his position at Villanova, Wright has served as head coach of the USA team in the World University Games, leading them to a gold medal in 2005. He also coached the USA team in the Pan American Games in 2007.
Wright graduated from Bucknell University, where he was a four-year letterman in basketball, and from Council Rock High School in Bucks County.

Robert Healey, Esq.
Bob Healey Bob Healey, an alumnus of Camden Catholic, Saint Joseph’s University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, has a lifetime of achievement in several different fields. In 1998, he established the International Education Foundation (IEF), which supports children from low and middle-income families who do not qualify for financial aid needed to attend Catholic schools and private and public universities. The Catholic School Development Program (CSDP) is an extension of the IEF and it brings a program of fundamental operating principles to the schools, including governance and business management. CSDP is a driving influence in the effort to provide a uniform quality education to the children in Camden and the area who attend Catholic schools.

Friends For JUST
This event is held to raise funds to support the ministries of the Jesuit Urban Service Team that provide educational, medical, legal and social services to the working poor and underserved families living in Camden and South Jersey. These ministries include Holy Name School and the High School Scholars Program, St. Luke’s Catholic Medical Services, the Camden Center For Law and Social Justice and Guadalupe Family Services.

The reception, which begins at 6:30 PM, includes hors d’oeuvres, dessert and an open bar. Tickets are $100 and can be reserved by calling HNC-JUST at (856) 963-5500 or Doris Cunningham at (856) 854-4335. Information about this event is also available at www.hnc-just.org.
